For years Idahoans have been fighting for compensation for those exposed to nuclear fallout from the U.S. Nuclear Arms testing in the 1950s and 1960s. This group, known as the ‘Downwinders’ have suffered from cancer and a myriad of other illnesses related to nuclear exposure. Senator Crapo has co-sponsored legislation four times to amend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, otherwise known as RECA. A documentary entitled “Jay and John Wayne: A Downwinders Story” will be shown in Emmett on Saturday August 10, 2013. For more information on the event visit the website of Senator Mike Crapo.
